Learn how to relax, visit Swansboro

While we spent much of early search efforts in the Beaufort area, this year we decided to try some other areas. We made an offer on a place in Beaufort which really didn't match a couple of important things we wanted. Fortunately the offer was rejected, and we expanded our search. The Swansboro area seemed worth exploring. It is only 28 miles from Beaufort. Subtracting those miles has turned out to be a real benefit since it allows us to save about 45 minutes each way driving to Roanoke, Va where our home is located. The traffic around Morehead and the bridges which slow traffic into Beaufort certainly aren't missed when we're trying to get home.

I would still give the shops in Beaufort the edge, but I'm not sure my wife would agree. While Swansboro doesn't have the large number of clothing shops, it has plenty of home decor shops to keep the ladies interested. It also has its fair share of excellent restaurants, plus all the services that one could want in a retirement area. We should know since we've already worked with a local gas company, an appliance company, a home electronics company, and a furniture store with an interior decorator. So far we've been very impressed with the people we've worked with in Swansboro. They're friendly and go out of their way to try to help you meet your goals.
