Net Housesmall
If you grow up in North Carolina, it is hard to escape eating in Carolina style seafood houses. That is especially the case since almost everyone has a weakness for fresh fried flounder, oysters, or shrimp.

We made several trips to the Beaufort area where the Net House is famous for their fresh fish. One thing I came to realize was that the special of the way rarely changed.

It was almost broiled grouper with djon mustard. Along with that you could usually expect to find stuffed soft shell crabs.

Most visits my wife would have the grouper, and I would have the soft shell crabs sometimes have a combination with fried oysters or flounder.

Then there the times I would get a large order of steamed local clams.

No matter what we got, the food at the Net House doesn't disappoint. I even enjoy their salads with a spicy honey mustard dressing. My wife has been known to try their Boston Creme Pie like cake. It's also very good.

If you are in Beaufort give them a try. They are at 133 Turner St, Beaufort, NC. Their phone number is (252) 728-2002. Unless things have changed, they are only open for dinner.

You might some better flounder, my you will have to fry it yourself.
